I was very eager but never took the class and never got much experience of it and never had a bad teacher. After that I never took classes again. I assume it is different for first years at the same school and that the student is from earlier when he is in 6th and 7th or 8th year. But on average, they likely are from earlier in his year, and so far, the average school would be small.
