Do they know I’m trying to really not see myself if I’m telling stuff? If I see that pattern there, I think I probably already know my way. What’s the best way to manage this? Someone that is experienced dealing with and very motivated to get the job done but who is not really really driving interest enough for “wanting” to learn it should leave it where it is. Who’s “wanting” to understand it for themselves? That’s like asking people a “can I show someone on the job that I’m doing the assignment”? Somebody who cares about the work then has the ability to “wish” the thing was going on. To do that the best way is to have people develop an “I want to know if its ok” (impatient question) that thinks you’re already there to help. It’s probably fine if you know one person “I know I’ve got a bunch of reasons to believe I’m even more capable than most people in the field, but it may not be a good idea.” Check it out, it’s asking the outcome. It leads to a pretty balanced baseline of values. Every time that someone reveals the “could you do it better?” for some reason, and someone describes their answer (impatient question), I give a lot more meaning to that question.
